Benziger Family Winery is searching for a passionate and enthusiastic wine sales and customer service professional to join our dynamic, high energy Hospitality team.
In support of elevating and expanding guest experiences at our Benziger and Imagery wineries, we're seeking a full-time Estate Host. This role is responsible for creating memorable, world-class experiences for all guests by hosting private small and large group tastings, winery tours and elevated, educational experiences. All applicants must be confident in their ability to represent premium wines, be highly motivated to sell wine and convert guests into Wine Club members, be capable of developing new guest experiences and honing current offerings, be an energetic self-starter and multi-tasker and must truly enjoy working with people.
Highly motivated sales individual who thrives on providing superior hospitality to assure the highest quality service, experience and execution within brand standards
Proven track-record of selling and up-selling wines, wine club memberships and merchandise
Dynamic team player, working with Hospitality and Special Events teams to reach daily and monthly sales goals
Trains new staff on Hospitality offerings and works to further develop effectiveness of existing staff
In cooperation with Sr. Hospitality Manager, provides ideas and support to enhance business development efforts
Greet and/or host trade visits as needed
Develops and builds partnerships within the company, including Benziger Family Winery Tasting Room, Tours, Direct Marketing, Marketing, Sales, Winemaking/Production and Accounting, as well as within the community
Possess commanding knowledge of POS systems to competently handle all sales transactions

Must be 21 years of age
College degree, ideally in retail/business management or hospitality, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
Must hold a valid driver's license
2+ years of prior relevant experience is required; candidates with tasting room retail, direct to consumer sales, restaurant or hotel experience will be preferred
Comprehensive understanding of winemaking, wine tasting and viticulture
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are a must
Friendly, positive, professional appearance and disposition at all times
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up and work in a fast pace environment under pressure
Must have strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
Must be available to work weekends, special events and holidays
Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 40 pounds at varying frequencies
Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to, lift trucks, hand trucks, dishwashers etc.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
Ability to stand for long periods of time

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
